Projects: Economic & Floodplain Assesment: 2D Flood Modeling
Tetra Tech has performed extensive FLO-2D modeling studies to delineate flood hazards for various projects. Tetra Tech has also been retained as a consultant to provide technical oversight on a number of FLO-2D flood hazard delineation projects performed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. All of these projects involve complex unconfined flooding which could only be simulated with the FLO-2D two-dimensional flood routing model.
FLO-2D is a state-of-the-art finite difference flood simulation model developed by Tetra Tech and approved by FEMA for FIS studies. The FLO-2D model has been used in four District offices of the Corps.
The FLO-2D model has also been used to perform floodplain studies for private companies in Santa Barbara, California, Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona.
