  Pine Lake | Clean Beach | Aliso and San Diego Creeks

Under the Clean Beach Initiatives Program, two BMPs are under design/construction. The first project is located in Aliso Viejo at the outlet of the J01P28 storm drain before flow enters Aliso Creek in the Woodfield Park area. A treatment system will collect and disinfect up to 150 gpm. The design is complete and construction is imminent. The second project is located at Poche Beach at the San Clemente/ Dana Point border. This treatment system will collect and disinfect up to 500 gpm and outlet the water onto the beach. The 90-percent design plans are under review by the County. Both treatment systems use filter systems and ultraviolet radiation to accomplish the disinfection. As part of these projects, Tetra Tech provided the CEQA documentation with Orange County as the Lead Agency. Both projects resulted in a Mitigated Negative Declaration determination. Tetra Tech provided responses to the comments received during the public review period.
