Projects: Hydrographic Surveying: Howard Hanson Dam

Tetra Tech provided multidisciplinary field data collection support to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, to document baseline environmental conditions of the Green River in the Kanaskat-Palmer reach.

Tetra Tech’s in house personnel completed investigations in ground and hydrographic surveying; geomorphology and geology; fishery and botanical biology; and provided cultural, civil and hydraulic engineering support. Information obtained from the Phase I Site Investigations will be used to support future feasibility assessments and design of fishery habitat mitigation projects.

A phased approach was utilized for field data collection, which helped expedite the data collection schedule. An adaptive management approach of the data collection effort was applied due to the complex nature of the study and the extreme nature of the field conditions. Tetra Tech has also participated in a field data collection methodology workgroup and has provided input and guidance for developing and streamlining data collection procedures and field techniques to be used by several other companies and agencies on projects throughout the Green River watershed.
