Projects: River and Lake Restoration

Ponca State Park | Blue River | Green River | Lake Stevens | LA River

Rivers mean many things to many people: water for irrigation; habitat for fish and wildlife; natural beauty and a place for recreation; sources for hydroelectric power; culture and a way of life; to name but a few. Constantly evolving and responding to natural and man-made elements, there comes a time when we must assess the impacts human interaction and forces of nature have had on rivers.

From minor studies and assessments to major river restoration efforts, the issues inherent in these efforts are numerous and complex. These projects require a delicate balance of expertise and services ranging from hydrographic data collection, engineering and modeling, and habitat restoration, to geomorphic and sediment transport. It is essential to understand the unique challenges associated with flood-related issues, threatened and endangered species habitat issues, and economic needs.

Sensitivity to the societal aspects of river related projects is, in many ways, as important as the technical aspects, in terms of developing a plan that can be successfully implemented. Public awareness, education, and involvement are crucial to successful restoration projects.

We deliver two decades of experience and a full-service team of professionals to our clients, and we are proud to have earned their trust in such sensitive projects. Repeat clients, including the Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, Forest Service, and the Fish and Wildlife Service, are evidence of our team’s commitment and expertise in river-related projects.
